About
My name is Lisa, and I am a writer and artist based out of the Midlands in Ireland.
I grew up in Ireland with a few years in San Francisco at different points in my life. My childhood was dotted with me creating stories and drawings, which are essentially the same items in different packages now. The art I create is centered around an exploration of a specific emotion, which is a similar theme in my writing.
Writing
I love to write about magic and the mundane, animals, and relationships of all kinds. My work in progress is a children’s poetry book based on Halloween. I am currently illustrating it, and you can see some of them over here. I also write a lot of non-children-focused poetry and prose. You can find some examples under the ‘writing’ tab.
Illustration
My illustration style consists of organic shapes, mottled textures, and rich but muted colors with lots of hidden easter eggs.
Art
My art is usually abstract in nature, focused on a single emotion expressed through color, texture, and light via acrylic paints. When there is an emotion that I can’t shake, I know it’s time to paint it and pray it stays around long enough for me to finish the painting.
